What I Know About the New Amtrak Mardi Gras Service

The Travels with Kev Newsletter

Hello Reader,

Welcome back!

Happy Birthday, Amtrak!

Today, marks the anniversary or birthday of Amtrak.

A Quick Ride Through Amtrak’s History
Amtrak, officially known as the National Railroad Passenger Corporation, was founded in 1970 and began service on May 1, 1971.

Congress established it to ensure intercity passenger trains continued operating as private railroads wanted to start phased them out. Beginning with a combination of routes from various rail companies, Amtrak has expanded into a national network serving over 500 destinations across 46 states.

From scenic long-distance trains to bustling city-to-city routes like the Northeast Corridor, Amtrak has been connecting people and places for 54 years.

Capitol Corridor Onboard Ticket Sale Process Change

Starting March 29, Capitol Corridor passengers cannot buy tickets from conductors using credit cards. Amtrak recommends that customers purchase their tickets ahead of time, before boarding the train. Passengers can buy tickets onboard, but only with cash and the exact amount preferred.

✅ There will be two daily trains in each direction
✅ I have the list of all the stops
❓ I don’t have the full schedule yet

If you’re interested in this new train, bookmark my page and check back! I’ll update the article as soon as more information is available. 🚆🎉

What has Kev been up to?

My trip went well! I got a lot of work done for Radiant Life Health Services, which is great because that was the main goal for the first part of the trip.

While on this trip, there was also talk about me possibly joining my friends Ben and Jeff on a cruise. Have you ever been on a cruise? Did you enjoy it?

sometimes I had a good time with the kids at my sister's place. They can be a little overwhelming for me, but they’re full of love and wonder. I enjoy watching them grow. In about 30 days, they’ll be in Wisconsin, and we’re already planning some fun activities for them.

I have a few new articles coming up soon! Feel free to forward or share this email with your friends who you could benefit from it.
