Hello Reader,
ALL ABOARD, for this week's newsletter!
How about giving the gift of Amtrak this holiday season?
There are several ways to spread a little Amtrak joy this season!
Consider giving someone the gift of travel with an Amtrak gift card. Available in both digital and physical formats, these cards are easy to order directly through Amtra!
Another option is to give Amtrak merchandis. Every year, Amtrak releases a tree ornament, an ugly sweater, and more every year. For the record, I wear a size large, haha! My parents said the new ornament will be on the tree this year!
If you want to gift some Amtrak gear, here is the link to the Amtrak Store. Orders over $25 receive free shipping.
Tracking the Floridian
The Floridian began service this week, and it’s already generating some rumors! Many people using third-party train tracking sites have noticed that some stops appear missing toward the route's end. This issue occurs because the Floridian has more stops than some tracking systems can currently display.
If you notice that stops are missing on these sites, don’t worry—the systems are still fixing the bugs, and the train stops at all scheduled stops.
This week, several social media posts claimed that the train was terminating early, which is invalid. I find it amusing when people online argue with those who are actually on the train! If Amtrak were to terminate my train early, I would know about it before any “armchair traveler” does.
If you didn’t know, you can track Amtrak trains! Want to learn more? Check out my article on tracking Amtrak trains for all the details.
What Kev Has Been Up To!
I am back in Florida! You would think I love this state! I rode the Floridan to Tampa and then a bus to the St Petersburg area.
The trip was great, and I loved it! For this part of the trip, I had a Viewliner Bedroom, and my car was a Vlewliner I. I enjoyed the extra space in the room and got to lay out on the sofa. The bathroom is a little smaller than the Superliners'. Since I didn't want to spend all my time on the train staring at my computer, I will post on the trains more about it later. I hope you understand.
