Amtrak Downeaster Marks 10 Million Passengers

The Amtrak Downeaster has reached an incredible milestone—10 million riders since its launch in 2001! To celebrate, passengers on the December 18, 2024, Train 686 enjoyed cookies and "Golden Tickets" for free round-trip rides. The service is a vital link for commuters, students, families, and travelers exploring Maine’s beautiful coastline.

Amtrak Updated Its App

Last week, Amtrak updated its app for Apple and Android phones. While the app's appearance has definitely changed, it works much the same as before, hopefully even better.

The home screen was redesigned, and an updated My Trip page was added to make it easier to find tickets on the go.

The train status button has also moved to the upper right-hand corner. Additionally, some bugs were fixed, and some improvements were made under the hood.

Although I haven’t booked a trip with the updated app yet, I like its refreshed design so far. It seems user-friendly and easy to navigate, and I hope it is for you too.

What Kev Has Been Up To!

Being a church organist, you can guess, I have been busy!

I was impressed with the Christmas Eve Mass. The people sang well, and I got to open up the organ to let it really sing. There were a few stops that many people have not heard in a while.

Other than that, I have been keeping busy with a few projects.
